Venue The Lift to feature in Shoreditch Festival

Portable venue The Lift is to host a series of arts events as part of the Shoreditch Festival next month.

The Lift programme will feature outdoor performances by the Portico Quartet and YouTube star Nathan “Flutebox” Lee, while Lift International Associate Subathra Subramaniam will work with young dancers from local dance group Ebonessence to present newly commissioned performances, combining South Asian dance with street styles.

The event line-up also includes a contemporary circus show mixed with BMX stunts, a night of street poetry convened by arts group Apples and Snakes, and performances by RagRoof Theatre.

Shoreditch Festival is runs from August 16-24 in Shoreditch Park, and will also feature the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Lift is funded by the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation, and is designed by architects AOC.
