All Bob’s Women closes six days after opening

Off-West End musical All Bob’s Women is to close at the Arts Theatre less than a week after opening, following a mauling by critics.

Mark Shenton, writing for The Stage, described the show as “biliously bad”. and The Daily Telegraph’s Charles Spencer complained: ” Russell Labey’s production proves devoid of pace, point and even basic clarity and, at £29.50 for a top price ticket, All Bob’s Women is both a crying shame and a bleeding liberty. This is a show fit only for masochists and collectors of theatrical disasters.”

Its final performance will be on Sunday, June 28. It had been scheduled to run for ten weeks until August 24.

Guido Fabris, for lead producers Chokolate, said: “Unfortunately this is another example of a European hit getting lost in translation in London. The original Italian version of All Bob’s Women ran for nine months in Milan. We are extremely proud of our cast and production team and the hard work they put in.”
