London’s Young Vic Theatre has announced details of its new season, which will include the return of Peter Brook as well as a revival of Kurt Weill’s musical Street Scene.

The Opera Group’s artistic director John Fulljames will take on Street Scene, which will run in the main house for six nights from July 17, while Actors Touring Company artistic director Bijan Sheibani will direct The Brothers Size by Tarell Alvin McCraney from October 8.

Meanwhile, Walter Meierjohann will direct another show by Alvin McCraney entitled In the Red and Brown Water.

The production line-up will also feature the return of Samuel Beckett’s Fragments, following its world tour. Directed by Brook and starring Marcello Magni and Kathryn Hunter, it will run from August 27 until September 13 in the venue’s main house.

Other season highlights include Matthew Dunster’s You Can See the Hills, Amazonia by Pedro Cardoso and Paul Heritage, and one-off Brazilian community production Festa! on August 16.
