Oedipus, starring Ralph Fiennes, IN - I featuring Juliette Binoche and DV8’s latest offering To Be Straight With You will join War Horse at the National Theatre in the venue’s first season offering Sunday openings.

As reported in The Stage last month, War Horse will be the first NT show to play Sunday matinees - from September 21. It has now been confirmed that these three other shows will join the production in offering Sunday shows.

National director Nicholas Hytner, said: “It’s long been our ambition to open the National on Sundays, joining all our neighbours on the South Bank who open their doors throughout the weekend. This is excellent news for audiences, particularly those who find it difficult to come here during the traditional working week. We are immensely grateful to our NT company of staff and actors, and to the theatre unions Equity, Bectu and the Musicians’ Union, whose co-operation has been vital in enabling us to take this important step.”

Full details for the other three productions will be announced next month.
