First Artist Corporation - the media, events and entertainment management group - has confirmed it has received an offer for Dewynters, the theatre advertising company it bought for £15.5 million in 2006.

According to a statement released by the company to the AIM stock exchange today, the group has “received a preliminary proposal which could lead to the disposal of Dewynters Limited”.

It did not reveal by whom the approach had been made and added: “Discussions are at a very early stage and there can be no certainty as to the outcome. A further announcement will be made as appropriate.”

Dewynters has worked on marketing campaigns for West End shows such as Les Miserables, Wicked and Avenue Q.
