Coronation Street producer Steve Frost is to join ITV as the broadcaster’s head of continuing drama series.
Frost will take up the post in May, replacing Corinne Hollingworth, who announced she was leaving earlier this month.
As head of continuing drama series, Frost will have responsibility for the broadcaster’s long-running programmes, including Coronation Street, Emmerdale, The Bill and Heartbeat.
ITV director of drama Laura Mackie said: “To have secured someone of Steve’s talent and experience in such a crucial role within ITV drama is fantastic. His track record speaks for itself and he fully deserves this new role looking after a wider remit of shows.”
Working as producer of Coronation Street for two years, Frost was responsible for overseeing some of the soap’s biggest storylines, including Tracy Barlow’s murder of Charlie Stubbs and the death of Vera Duckworth, played by Liz Dawn, who had worked on the show for 34 years.
Prior to working on Coronation Street, Frost was producer of The Royal and Emmerdale.
