Tarrant to host ITV Beadle tribute

ITV1 is to pay tribute to Jeremy Beadle in a 60-minute programme hosted by Chris Tarrant.

Called An Audience Without Jeremy Beadle, the programme is being made by Talent Television and will take a look at Beadle’s career on shows such as Game for a Laugh and Beadle’s About.

It will be filmed in front of an audience made up of celebrities and family and friends of Beadle, who died in January of pneumonia.

Tarrant, who was a close friend of the presenter, will interview stars and members of the public who were on the receiving end of Beadle’s pranks.

Prior to being broadcast in the spring, members of the public will also be invited to vote on their top ten Beadle’s About scams, with the top five clips being featured in the show.

An Audience Without Jeremy Beadle will be executive produced by Talent Television’s creative director, John Kaye Cooper and Clive Doig, who worked with Beadle on his first ever show, The Deceivers.

Kaye Cooper said: “We want to put together a fitting tribute that Jeremy himself would have been proud of - a show that is funny and irreverent but also reflects his fantastic enthusiasm, passion, and generosity.”
