The tie-up sees the channel become the official TV partner for the National Theatre’s 2008 Travelex £10 tickets season.

As part of the deal, Sky Arts will be offering viewers the chance to win tickets to performances in the season, which includes George Bernard Shaw’s Major Barbara and Fram, the world premiere of a new play by Tony Harrison.

Sky Arts will also promote question and answer sessions with NT directors, writers and actors.

John Cassy, channel manager for Sky Arts said: “Sky Arts is thrilled to bring the magic of the National Theatre to a much wider audience. Through the onstage partnerships Sky Arts develops and through the content we put on screen, we are committed to supporting the arts and contributing to the UK cultural landscape.”

National Theatre director of marketing Sarah Hunt said the “generous support” of the channel would enable “the groundbreaking [Travelex] programme to reach new audiences throughout the UK”.
