The series, which starts next month, seeks to find performers for the roles of Nancy and Oliver in a Cameron Mackintosh-produced revival of Lionel Bart’s Oliver!

Humphries had his first break playing Mr Sowerberry in the original 1960 production of Oliver! and reprised the role on Broadway in 1963.

He also played Fagin in the 1967 London production and in Cameron Mackintosh’s 1997 version at the London Palladium.
