New Skins series to launch online

E4 will launch the second series of its hit drama Skins on the internet, with the first episode played out on the channel’s website and on social network site MySpace in the week before its transmission on TV.

The first episode of the series, which stars Nicholas Hoult, will be shown in four segments at www.myspace.com/e4skins, with the first shown on February 2 and the following segments shown consecutively over three nights from February 7.

At www.e4.com/skins the first episode will be shown on February 10 in its entirety prior to its screening on E4 on February 11.

MySpace and e4.com will also show Unseen Skins, a series of short online specials that run in conjunction with the main series, featuring new young writers and directors. The first, which has been directed by Hoult, will be available after episode one goes out on E4.

E4 marketing manager Sarah Martin said “Getting programming out to where our viewers are is an ongoing and important part of E4’s strategy. It’s great that we’re able to reward Skins fans by giving them the chance to watch it ahead of it being on the channel.”
