Life on Mars team set to remake British Law and Order

Published Thursday 3 January 2008 at 17:00 by Matthew Hemley

Long-running American crime series Law and Order is set to be remade for British television by Life on Mars producer Kudos Film and Television.

The company is understood to be in talks with the show’s US producer NBC Universal to make a UK version for ITV, with the working title Law and Order: London.

The American series of the show, which is the longest running crime series on US television and which has just begun its 18th season on NBC, is shown in the UK on Five.

A source close to the deal said ITV, NBC and Kudos are in “advanced talks” about bringing the show to the UK, but a deal has not yet been completed.
