Peter Hall’s production of Pygmalion is to transfer to the Old Vic in May 2008.
Tim Pigott-Smith stars as Henry Higgins who was last seen at the Waterloo venue in 1998’s The Iceman Cometh. Newcomer Michelle Dockery will play Eliza Doolittle, while Tony Haygarth, Pamela Miles and Una Stubbs will reprise their roles as Alfred Doolittle, Mrs Eynsford Hill and Mrs Peace from Hall’s original Bath production.
Pygmalion, which was written by George Bernard Shaw, opens on May 15 and runs until August 2. The production was first staged at the Theatre Royal in Bath.
