Kosminsky signs output deal with Daybreak Pictures

Published Thursday 1 November 2007 at 17:10 by Matthew Hemley

The Government Inspector writer and director Peter Kosminsky has signed a deal with production house Daybreak Pictures, which will see all his future work produced under the company’s name.

The output deal builds on the existing close relationship Kosminsky has with Daybreak executive producers David Aukin and Hal Vogel. Kosminsky and Aukin previously collaborated on The Government Inspector and all three have worked on Britz, a two-part thriller currently being broadcast on Channel 4.

Other projects Daybreak is planning with Kosminsky either as a director, writer or executive producer include Terrorists, about the struggle of the suffragettes, and a drama on the Alexander Litvinenko poisoning, both for Channel 4.

Daybreak Pictures, part of the media company Tinopolis, was launched in September 2006 and is run by Aukin and Vogel.

Its productions include The Trial of Tony Blair and A Very Social Secretary.
