Red Bull has announced details of six 24 hour play events around the country to be produced in conjunction with the Old Vic.
24 Hour Plays - The Red Bull Sessions will see five short plays staged from scratch within a single day across the country. Groups of 18-25 year old writers, producers, directors and actors will work together to create the new plays.
The first will take place at the Tabard, London, on Saturday (October 27) and will run until Sunday evening. Later events are to be held throughout November at the Old Stock Joint in Birmingham, the Round in Newcastle, the Hen and Chicken in Bristol, the Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama in Manchester and the Marlborough Theatre in Brighton.
Red Bull’s event follows in the footsteps of the annual 24 Hour Plays - Old Vic New Voices sessions in March, which began in 2005. Each year, the Old Vic also holds a celebrity equivalent, past participants include Jim Broadbent, Vince Vaughn and Catherine Tate.
