Rupert Goold’s production of Macbeth, starring Patrick Stewart and Kate Fleetwood, will transfer to New York in 2008.
Following critical and commercial success in the West End, the production will run for six weeks at the Brooklyn Academy of Music from February 12 of next year. The cast remains unchanged for the residency in the 870-seat Harvey Lichtenstein Theatre, following its ten-week run at the Gielgud Theatre, which ends on December 1. It premiered at Chichester Festival Theatre’s Minerva Theatre.
Stewart’s performance as Macbeth was named Best Performance in a Play at the Theatrical Management Association Awards 2007.
