Kelly Osbourne to star in Chicago

Kelly Osbourne is to make her stage debut in Chicago at the Cambridge Theatre, where she will play Mama Morton for a seven-week run.

From September 10, the 22-year-old daughter of Black Sabbath vocalist Ozzy Osbourne will star alongside Josefina Gabrielle as Roxie Hart, Annette McLaughlin as Velma Kelly and Clive Rowe as Amos Hart.

Osbourne is known for being a pop singer and reality TV regular. She has appeared in Emmy award winning television series The Osbournes, ITV show I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here…Now! and a three-part documentary Turning Japanese. She also had a UK No 1 chart hit with Changes in 2003.

She will now join a line of celebrities who have already tread the Chicago boards, including singers Duncan James and Tina Arena, as well as television presenter Denise Van Outen.

Chicago opened at London’s Adelphi Theatre in 1997 before transferring to the Cambridge Theatre last April, where it originally received its London premiere in 1979 and ran for 603 performances.

In 2005, it became the Adelphi’s longest running production, replacing previous record holder Me and My Girl. The show will celebrate its tenth West End anniversary in November.
