The broadcaster said the ten-minute special due to go out next month will give viewers a “taste of what to expect” from the second series, which will be aired in 2008.

Skins is made by Company Pictures and the one-off special has written by Max Gogarty, with Owen Harris directing.

Filming is taking place at a secret location in Bristol on August 2.

E4 head Angela Jain said: “Skins is a huge hit for E4 and has established a young, dedicated community who engage with the series - on the channel and online.

“This special will give audiences a taste of what to expect from the second series.”

The first series of Skins, which has already been shown on E4, will re-run on Channel 4, starting on August 21.
