Phillips joins Jordan’s Red Planet Pictures

Tony Jordan’s Red Planet Pictures has appointed producer Claire Phillips as its first senior drama executive in a bid to build the company’s production slate.

Phillips, whose credits include Waterloo Road and Footballers’ Wives, will be responsible for producing the company’s second series of HolbyBlue, as well as overseeing the production house’s drama development slate. She will executive produce future commissions the company receives.

Jordan, former chief storyliner of EastEnders and co-creator of Life on Mars, said: “Our development slate is looking very exciting and Claire has exactly the right combination of enthusiasm, vigour and ambition to progress each project and help establish Red Planet Pictures as the forerunner in successful, long running, drama.”

Phillips said “Working alongside Tony, with his great drama heritage, will give me the chance to help develop some intriguing and exciting new dramas and find new writing talent - a core objective for Red Planet Pictures.

“The fact that I am working with a newly-created production company will be a challenging prospect, but Red Planet Pictures is already establishing a name for itself and it gives me a perfect opportunity to grow with the company and explore a whole new side to the industry.”
