Premiering at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley, the production will visit 12 locations around the country as part of its first British tour, although further locations are expected to be announced this September.
The show will be directed by Jeff Calhoun, director of Broadway revivals Grease and Big River, and will feature a score including all the songs from the original soundtrack.
High School Musical’s touring company, which was launched in the US in January 2006, will include a live orchestra and 34 actors. Casting will be announced later this year.
