Bomb alert forces West End show cancellations

Three West End shows have cancelled their evening performances following a bomb alert in central London this morning.

The Last Confession at Theatre Royal Haymarket has cancelled its 8pm performance and The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty’s has cancelled its 7.30pm performance. Meanwhile Mamma Mia! has cancelled its 5pm performance and will take a decision later on its 8.30pm performance.

The venues which have been affected by police cordoning off the area around Haymarket near Piccadilly include the Comedy, Haymarket, Prince of Wales, Criterion and Her Majesty’s.
