Kris Marshall and Diana Quick will share the small screen with a cast of canines in a 90-minute romantic comedy for ITV1.

Called Catwalk Dogs, the Shed production is based around married couple Sally and Michael, played by Georgia MacKenzie and Marshall, who are struggling to cope with a miscarriage.

When Sally leaves Michael and moves in with her neighbour Guy, played by Dominic Rowan, and his mother, played by Quick, Michael seeks comfort in his pet dog Archie.

With the support of members of the local dog club, he sets about trying to win Sally back.

The comedy has been penned by Men Behaving Badly writer Simon Nye and commissioned by ITV deputy controller of drama Sally Haynes.

She said: “Simon Nye has written a funny, quirky and deeply romantic piece set against the world of dog shows that will appeal to a broad spectrum of viewers.

“Kris Marshall and Georgia MacKenzie have the perfect rapport to deliver such a script and Diana Quick, as the mother from hell, adds another quality dimension to the film.”
