The show is up for best single drama, as well as receiving two nominations for best actor (Jim Broadbent and Andy Serkis) and one for best actress (Samantha Morton). It faces competition from other single dramas Kenneth Williams - Fantabulosa, which also received a nomination for best actor (Michael Sheen), Housewife, 49, for which Victoria Wood received her record 12th nomination, and Road to Guantanamo.
Meanwhile, BBC1’s Life on Mars will compete against Shameless, Sugar Rush and The Street to be named Best Drama Series, while Green Wing, The IT Crowd, Pulling and The Royle Family - Queen of Sheba are up for Best Situation Comedy. Elsewhere, theatre talent hunt How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? received a nomination for Best Entertainment Programme, as did Derren Brown for his special The Heist, and Casualty, Coronation Street, Eastenders and Emmerdale will vie for Best Continuing Drama.
