BBC1 series Life on Mars and Channel 4’s feature length Myra Hindley drama Longford are set to lead the way in this year’s British Academy Television Craft Awards, with ten nominations between them.

Prime Suspect: The Final Act, Jane Eyre and Tsunami are also in the running for three awards each at the event, which honours the unsung heroes of television, including writers, directors, costume designers, make-up artists and sound designers.
Writer Peter Morgan, winner of two Baftas earlier this year for his film The Last King of Scotland, will be hoping to score a hat trick with a nomination for the drama Longford.
Morgan is up against Matthew Graham, writer of Life on Mars, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant for Extras, and Frank Deasy for Prime Suspect: The Final Act.
Longford’s director, Tom Hooper, will battle it out with Life on Mars’ Bharat Nalluri and Soundproof’s Edmund Coulthard for the best director accolade.
The awards take place on April 22 at The Dorchester and will be hosted by Jon Snow.
