Radcliffe to present theatre research book prize

Daniel Radcliffe is to present the Society for Theatre Research’s Theatre Book Prize on April 12.

The award is normally presented by society president Timothy West, who will be busy appearing in Coriolanus at Washington’s Kennedy Centre this year.

Radcliffe, who is currently starring in Equus and is best known for the Harry Potter films, will take his place at the ceremony at the Theatre Museum in Covent Garden.

Amongst the shortlisted authors is Stage contributor Aleks Sierz, nominated for his book The Theatre of Martin Crimp.

Others on the list include Jacky Bratton and Ann Featherstone, John Heilpern, Robert Leach, Elizabeth Schafer, Geoffrey Davis and Ann Fuchs.

The judges are Heather Neill, John Woodvine and Richard Mangan.
