Published Friday 2 March 2007 at 14:25 by Liz Thomas

Five has confirmed controller of features and entertainment Ben Frow has left the broadcaster, after three years in the role.

It is understood that Frow, who during his tenure launched The Hotel Inspector and Diet Doctors, will cross over into the independent production sector.

Managing director Lisa Opie said: “Ben has made an invaluable contribution to Five in revamping our features output and has alsoÊbeen responsible for some of our most iconic images with series such as The Farm and Cosmetic Surgery Live. As you’d expect with an executive as talented as Ben, his services are much in demand and I’m sure we’ll be hearing about him in an exciting new role very soon.”

Frow’s career has taken in senior entertainment and factual commissioning roles at Five, Channel 4 and as a executive producer at the BBC.

The news comes at a time when Opie is restructuring the broadcaster and has been interviewing for a new director of programmes, Living TV’s Claudia Rosencrantz and Sky’s Richard Woolfe are contenders.
