TV freelances are being offered grants to pay for 70% of their professional development in a new scheme run by Media Training North West.
The training organisation said that the fund would help upcoming talent pay to learn new skills and help them find work in the future.
Chief executive Lynne McCadden said: “There’s never been a more exciting time to be involved in Northwest media, particularly with the growth of Mediacity: UK and the BBC’s decision to relocate key departments to Salford. Now more than ever before, freelances are going to be in high demand. That’s why I would urge people to take advantage of the support being offered.”
Once an application has been approved, freelances will be able to use their grant to access training of their choice, anywhere in the country.
The deadline for applications is June 30.
