Online broadcaster YourKindaTV, has signed a deal with Information TV to air its own branded channel on Saturday and Sunday evenings, on Sky Digital.

Each week the best user-generated content clips will be featured on the channel, voted for by viewers and users of the YourKindaTV website. The company is also in discussions with advertisers about commercial tie-ups, following Ofcom’s decision to allow some channel sponsorship.

Michael Oxley, COO of YourKindaTV, added: “Since launching earlier this year we have built a large audience for our online TV content. We anticipate that moving onto the Sky digital platform will further grow our audience and appeal to advertisers who are looking for new ways to exploit the most appropriate communication channels for their customers be that online, mobile, or TV.”

Information TV acts as an incubator for fledgling channels, providing airtime and broadcast services under contract, for those with broadcasting plans either for a programme or for an entire channel.

Bill Gash, from Information TV commented: “We are delighted that YourKindaTV has recognised the power of combining TV and online video delivery and taken advantage of Information TV’s broadcasting service. This new channel on Saturday and Sunday evenings will encourage TV viewers to get involved online. For those already taking part online, there’s the prospect of having their clip shown on TV and potentially shortlisted for the British User Generated Awards.”
