Brighton comedy club acquires old Bath cinema

Comedy club owner Komedia is to take over a former cinema in Bath and transform it into a live entertainment venue.

The company, whose Brighton venue has played host to comedians such as Graham Norton and the League of Gentlemen, is to take over the lease on The Beau Nash Picture House in the new year.

Komedia Bath will feature a mixed programme of cabaret, music and comedy and will reopen in June, in time for the city’s fringe festival.

Managing director Colin Granger said: “Komedia is delighted that the council has chosen us over so many other strong candidates for the building. Komedia has been looking for the ideal city to export its live entertainment concept to for over three years and we strongly feel that Bath is the city and The Beau Nash Picture House the perfect building for us.”
