UKTV strikes online content deal with MSN

Published Thursday 14 September 2006 at 17:30 by Liz Thomas

UKTV, Britain’s second biggest multi-channel broadcaster, is joining forces with MSN UK to provide programming in both print and broadcast formats.

In the two-year revenue share deal, UKTV will provide the internet portal with 20 three-minute video clips from some of its top-rating shows such as Great Food Live! and Our House. Originally commissioned for UKTV Food and UKTV Style, these will now run on the new MSN Video channel.

The downloadable clips will focus on food techniques, DIY and style secrets. In addition, UKTV has signed a one year deal to provide the web company with feature articles for the recently launched MSN Lifestyle.

UKTV’s Amber Coley, commercial manager, new media said: “We’re incredibly excited to be working with a dynamic and trusted brand like MSN UK on what is our first commercial content syndication deal here at UKTV. This partnership is a cost effective way to introduce UKTV’s compelling broadcast and online content to a new and much wider audience.”
