Ashlee Simpson to star as Chicago’s Roxie Hart
Popstar Ashlee Simpson has been confirmed to play Roxie Hart in the West End production of Chicago from September 25.
The 21-year-old Texan singer, sister of Jessica Simpson, will appear for a limited, five-week season at the Cambridge Theatre.
Simpson’s debut album Autobiography went triple platinum and she has appeared on TV shows including The Ashlee Simpson Show and Malcolm in the Middle.
Linzi Hateley, currently starring as Roxie Hart, will leave at the end of her contract, while Ian Kelsey will continue to star as Billy Flynn with Amra-Faye Wright and Julian Sims as Velma Kelly and Amos Hart.
