Little Britain creators David Walliams and Matt Lucas picked up two prizes at this year’s prestigious Royal Television Society Awards for their critically acclaimed comedy programme.
The BBC3 show won the prize for best entertainment format and Walliams and Lucas, who wrote and starred in Little Britain, received the award for best comedy performance.
Former director-general of the BBC Greg Dyke received the top gong for his lifetime contribution to broadcasting from the RTS judges, who commented he had “fought like a tiger” for the BBC and its staff.

Actor (Female): Kate Ashfield - This Little Life, BBC Films and The Film Council present a Common Features Production in association with the Northern Production Fund and the Yorkshire Media Production Agency/Studio of the North
Actor (Male): David Morrissey - The Deal, Granada Television
Entertainment Performance: Jonathan Ross - Friday Night with Jonanthan Ross, Open Mic Productions
Comedy Performance: David Walliams and Matt Lucas - Little Britain, BBC
