Miriam Margolyes and Nigel Planer are set to star in the West End transfer of Broadway musical Wicked.

Margolyes, who has recently appeared as Professor Sprout in the Harry Potter films, will feature as Madame Morrible, while Planer, a founder of London’s Comedy Store and an original member of The Comic Strip, will play The Wizard.

They join previously announced Idina Menzel, as Elphaba - the Wicked Witch - and Adam Garcia, as Fiyero.

The production opens on September 27 at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, following previews from September 7. The full cast will be announced shortly.
