UK entertainment and comedy stars and programmes dominated this year’s Rose d’Or Awards in Switzerland.

Ricky Gervais’ Extras won the accolade for best sitcom, while Ashley Jensen picked up the prize for best sitcom actress for her role in the show. Gervais was also awarded the Honorary Rose d’Or for his “exceptional contribution to the entertainment industry”. Channel 4’s Deal or No Deal won awards for both best gameshow and best gameshow format, which were collected by Noel Edmonds. Best variety programme went to The Friday Night Project, while The Apprentice was named best reality show.

Look Around You, which was axed by BBC2, won the comedy category and Jo Joyner from Five’s first original comedy Swinging took home the prize for best female comedy performance.
