Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story on Stage has sold out for the first two months of its run at London’s Aldwych Theatre, half a year before opening night.

The production has taken £3 million in the six weeks since tickets went on sale, despite its full cast being unannounced as yet. Producers claim it is the fastest-selling show in West End history.

Written by Eleanor Bergstein, the script writer and co-producer of the 1987 hit movie, the show tells the story of dancer Johnny Castle, who wins the heart of a young girl on holiday with her family. It is due to receive its British premiere on October 24.
