Award-winning West End performer David Bedella and former Hear’Say singer Suzanne Shaw are to star in a new production of The Rocky Horror Show.
The production, directed by Christopher Luscomber, uses Richard O’Brien’s original script. Bedella is best known for the role of Satan in Jerry Springer - the Opera, for which he won the Best Actor Olivier in 2004. He has starred on Broadway and in US national tours including Jesus Christ Superstar. Most recently he appeared in BBC hospital drama Holby City as surgeon Carlos Fashola.
Shaw hit the headlines as part of pop group Hear’Say, the band which won ITV’s original singing talent competition Popstars. She starred in the national tour of Summer Holiday and was the narrator in Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat, when she appeared alongside former partner Darren Day.
The production opens at Brighton Theatre Royal on March 16 and calls at venues including Newcastle Theatre Royal, Liverpool Empire and Manchester Opera House.
