ITV’s outgoing drama director Laura Mackie has revealed that her new independent production company will be called Mainstreet Pictures.
The company, which Mackie will run with Sally Haynes, currently controller of drama at ITV, will be launched with the support of Boom Pictures.
Boom Pictures is a production company co-created last year by former BBC1 controller Lorraine Heggessey, who said: “Boom Pictures is all about backing the best creative talent, so we’re thrilled to be supporting Laura and Sally as they embark on this new venture. Their relationships with top writers, production talent and actors are second to none and I can’t wait to start working with them again as they grow Mainstreet.”
Mackie and Haynes have worked at ITV for seven years but announced last week they will resign from the company in June this year.
Mainstreet Pictures will operate out of Boom’s London office.
Mackie said she was looking forward to going back to her “production roots” and working with “brilliant talent both on and off screen”.
