Rainbow, who was most recently the executive producer of Let’s Dance for Comic Relief, replaces Andrea Hamilton and Glenn Coomber, who are stepping down having served their year-long contracts
She said: “I am truly delighted for the opportunity to executive produce such an amazing show and I’m really looking forward to working with a very talented team, both on and off screen.”

Katie Taylor, controller of entertainment and events at the BBC, said Rainbow would bring “formidable skills and imagination to the ballroom”.
