Postponed Tori Amos musical The Light Princess will be staged at the National Theatre towards the end of next year, the venue has confirmed.

The musical, which is based on George MacDonald’s story, was originally meant to be performed at the Lyttelton Theatre this year.

However, in October 2011 the National announced the show had been postponed to allow for further development.

A spokesman for the National told The Stage that the venue was doing “exactly as we said we would - producing it after giving it more time to develop”.

She said: “We are indeed looking at a production slot later next year and we’ll announce further details and dates in the new year.”

Marianne Elliott will direct it, as originally announced.

  1. You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I
find this matter to be actually something which I think I would never understand.
It seems too complicated and very broad
for me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
