Soul Sister, the new musical based on the lives of Ike and Tina Turner and featuring their music, will continue its UK tour in 2013.

Beginning in Glasgow at the King’s Theatre on January 14, the show will visit locations including Sheffield, Cardiff and Belfast before ending at Canterbury’s Marlowe Theatre on June 15.

Original cast members Emi Wokoma and Chris Tummings will return to perform as Tina and Ike Turner respectively.

The show, which features songs including What’s Love Got to Do with It, Proud Mary and River Deep Mountain High, premiered at London’s Hackney Empire in April 2012 before touring the UK in the autumn.

Soul Sister is devised by John Miller and Pete Brooks, directed by Brooks and Bob Eaton and designed by Laura Hopkins.

Choreography is by Jason Pennycooke, with musical staging and additional choreography from Carole Todd. The musical supervisor and arranger is Keith Strachan.

The Soul Sister tour is produced by Bill Kenwright and Miller.
