Rupert Goold will no longer direct the English National Opera’s Wozzeck next spring.
The director has had to cancel his plans to direct the opera because of “unforeseen scheduling conflicts with his first feature film”.
Goold also cancelled his plans to direct Troilus and Cressida for the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Wooster Group earlier this year for the same reason.
For the production of Wozzeck, he will be replaced by Young Vic associate director Carrie Cracknell, who recently worked on a staging of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House at the south London venue.
Wozzeck is due to have six performances on May 11, 13, 15, 18, 23 and 25, 2013 at the London Coliseum.
