The National Theatre is to partner with Hugo Boss in a year-long collaboration, which will see the fashion brand provide clothing to the venue.
Selected productions at the National will feature the costumes, which will be for the whole cast in some cases and specific actors in others.
Damned by Despair, which opens tonight at the National, will mark the first show featuring Hugo Boss designs alongside those from costume designer Moritz Junge.
As part of the partnership deal, Hugo Boss will be able to use the venue’s event spaces such as the rooftop area, The Deck.
Martin Prendegast, deputy director of development at the National Theatre, said: “We are delighted to be working with Hugo Boss, the National Theatre’s first ever partner for contemporary clothing. We very much look forward to our collaboration and to incorporating Hugo Boss’s unique designs and tailoring into some of our productions.”
