David Walliams to host the Royal Variety Performance

David Walliams is to host this year’s Royal Variety Performance.

The event, which will take place at the Royal Albert Hall and be attended by the Queen, marks the 100th anniversary of the variety show.

Walliams said: “I am honoured to be presenting the Royal Variety Performance this year. It is a show that I have watched every year from a very young age and never dreamed I would one day be a part of it.”

The line-up includes the casts of Matilda the Musical and The Bodyguard, as well as Kylie Minogue and comedian Rhod Gibert.

It will take place on November 19 and be screened on ITV in December.
