Arcola Theatre to stage UK premiere of Sweet Smell of Success

Olivier Award-winning actor David Bamber is to star in the UK premiere of Marvin Hamlisch’s musical Sweet Smell of Success.

The production will run at the Arcola Theatre from November 9 until December 22.

It will be directed by Mehmet Ergen.

Bamber won his Olivier for My Night With Reg in 1995. His other credits include the musical Betty Blue Eyes and the 2007 production of Absurd Person Singular at the Garrick Theatre.

Other cast members include Celia Graham and Stuart Matthew Price.

With music by Hamlisch, the production has lyrics by Craig Carnelia and a book by John Guare.

The show’s designer is Mark Bailey, and its choreography is by Nathan M Wright.
