Rocky Horror returns for UK tour

A new production of The Rocky Horror Show will tour the UK to mark its 40th anniversary.

The production will begin touring at the Theatre Royal in Brighton from December 20 to January 5, 2013 and will then transfer to other theatres including the Bristol Hippodrome theatre, the New Wimbledon Theatre, the Edinburgh Playhouse theatre and York’s Grand Opera House before ending in Milton Keynes Theatre in July 2013.

Further dates and casting are yet to be announced.

The Richard O’Brien production was originally performed in 1973 at the Royal Court Theatre before transferring to other London theatres.

Past productions have starred Russell Crowe, Jerry Springer, Tim Curry and Meatloaf.

The new show will be produced by Ambassador Theatre Group and directed by Christopher Luscombe.
