ITV1 is to follow its supernatural drama Marchlands with a new series that will once again follow the stories of three families living in the same house over different decades.
Similar to Marchlands, each family in the drama is linked by a ghostly presence. In the new five-part series, called Lightfields, the ghost is a teenager who died in “tragic circumstances”.
The series is being written by Simon Tyrell and, as Marchlands was, has been developed from a US pilot called The Oaks.
Lightfields will be made by ITV Studios and was ordered by ITV’s drama commissioning team, Laura Mackie and Sally Haynes.
Mackie said: “We’re delighted to build on the success of Marchlands with another highly original take on the format.”
Executive producer Kate Lewis described Tyrell’s scripts as “incredibly atmospheric”.
