BBC3 commissions new zombie drama and second series of Bad Education

BBC3 has commissioned In the Flesh, a three-part drama about rehabilitated zombies being reintroduced into society.

The drama has been written by new writer Dominic Mitchell, who was discovered through the BBC Writersroom initiative Northern Voices.

It will be directed by Jonny Campbell and the show will go into production in the autumn.

Meanwhile, BBC3 has also ordered a full series of sketch show Boom Town, which was piloted earlier this year.

According to the BBC, Boom Town will see “real people cast in what will be a first for the sketch show genre”.

“Whilst the place itself, Boom Town, will be entirely fictional, the people are real life characters and will appear to live there as a community,” the Corporation added.

BBC3 has also announced that it has ordered a second series of Bad Education, written by and starring Jack Whitehall.

The first series of Bad Education has just begun on the channel.
