BBC2 has won the terrestrial channel of the year award at the Edinburgh International Television Festival.
The channel took the accolade off ITV, which won the prize last year, while BBC4 was named digital channel of the year.
For the second year running, the terrestrial programme of the year award went to BBC1′s Sherlock.
Mad Men, broadcast on Sky Atlantic, was awarded digital programme of the year and Talkback, the production company behind shows such as Never Mind The Buzzcocks, scooped the prize for independent production company of the year.
Now in its 11th consecutive year, the festival’s Channel of the Year Awards celebrate the “creative, innovative and commercial solutions that both channels and production companies present”.
