Robin Williams, Tim Minchin and Frank Skinner are among the comedians set to appear in a new Sky Atlantic entertainment series, which will see the performers having to improvise a stand-up routine in front of a live audience.
Set List is a 14-part series described by Sky Atlantic as “fully improvised”. The broadcaster said it will see the comedians taking part, including Ross Noble and Russell Kane, tasked with creating routines based on topics presented to them “right there and then while on stage”.
The format for the show was devised by Troy Conrad. It is being produced by Princess Productions and Susquehanna Hats.
In addition to the comedians’ improvised routines, Set List will also include backstage footage, which Sky Atlantic said would mix “onstage performances with behind-the-scenes anxiety, reactions and recaps”,
Sky head of entertainment Philip Edgar-Jones said: “Set List is a uniquely terrifying approach to stand-up comedy. I love it because we have no idea what we’ll get. It’s like a bizarre compulsion to some of the biggest names in stand-up who are addicted to the freedom it brings them to take their comedy anywhere and everywhere.”
