A new stage adaptation of Great Expectations is to tour the UK this autumn ahead of a West End run.

The cast of Jo Clifford’s new adaptation of the Charles Dickens’ novel includes Jack Ellis, Chris Ellison, Paul Nivison and Paula Wilcox, who will take on the role of Miss Havisham. Further casting will be announced shortly.

Graham McLaren will direct the production, which will begin its tour at Richmond Theatre on September 12. Press night is on September 13 and other tour venues include theatres in Brighton, Birmingham and Aberdeen.

The play is produced on tour by Bruce Athol MacKinnon on behalf of Beckman Unicorn Ltd & Satis House Productions Ltd.

A new venture, the Dickens Trust is being launched alongside the production and will receive a royalty share of the box office takings. This new trust will distribute funds to organisations dealing with issues Dickens was passionate about, including prison reform and literacy.
