Alarm sounds over missing London actor Richard Gent

An actor who has worked for the Rondo Theatre in Bath and has appeared in TV series including Casualty, Teachers and Mistresses, has been reported missing in London.

Richard Gent, 27, was last seen at his home in West Hampstead, London on Saturday April 21. He had appeared in a number of TV advertisements and had featured in minor roles in the BBC series Torchwood and Being Human. Most recently, he appeared in the first episode of the three-part mini-series Black Mirror on Channel 4.

According to Gent’s family, both his phone and wallet had been left in his house, where he has lived for the past three years, and they consider his disappearance a “mystery”.

His bank account has not been accessed since he went missing and he had not taken any large cash amounts out prior to his disappearance. He has now been missing for more than two weeks.

His parents Barry and Alison and sister Lindsay Gent said in a statement that they loved and missed Richard, and were praying for his safe return. They added: “Richard’s passion for acting has given us proud memories to treasure.”

A statement from the Metropolitan Police said: “Police in Camden are appealing for the public’s help to trace a missing man. Richard Gent, 27, was last seen at his home in West Hampstead at approximately 4pm on Saturday April 21. Police are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare and urge anyone who has knowledge of his whereabouts to contact them. Please contact police on 101 or, in an emergency, 999.”
